Things to remember as you work on your electronic portfolio:
Purpose: The purpose of making an electronic portfolio is so that you can use it!!! (long after this class is over).
Audience: People involved with college applications, scholarship applications and employers.
Tone: Professional, but shows your personality. Just like in English class, your tone is important. Based on your audience people will look at this portfolio in order to get to know what type of work you do, and who you are. Make it a reflection of your best work.
Basic instructions for completing this portfolio
Remove or edit any "instructions" sections.
Customize the layout, pictures, etc to fit your personality.
This first page should be titled: ABOUT YOU:
This is the section where you should write about you. If you could tell the college admittance committee (scholarship, employer) who you are, what you are about, THIS is the place. Write this part in a tone like you are speaking to the admissions board, again be professional, but let your personality show. PUNCTUATION and GRAMMAR must be right.
Include things like:
Classes - you have taken that apply to engineering (CTE, Math, Science, Computers, etc).
Clubs - are you a member of any related clubs
Hobbies - do you do related hobbies (robotics, programming, etc)
Jobs - have you worked in related jobs?
Other things that make you special??? This could be anything - ROTC, Eagle Scout, PALS, Volunteer work, etc.............
